A Success That Inspires Europe from Our Faculty of Sports Sciences Faculty Members: Erasmus+ KA220-YOU Project Qualified for Support by the European Union
The project titled "Sport for All: Inclusive Youth with Hemsball," led by Associate Professor Dr. Niyazi Sıdkı Adıgüzel, a faculty member in the Faculty of Sport Sciences, and featuring Professor Dr. Aydın Karaçam and Associate Professor Dr. Bekir Çar as researchers, has been awarded €250,000 in support from the European Union and the Turkish National Agency as part of the Erasmus+ KA220-YOU Collaboration Partnership.
This project, considered a significant international achievement for our university, will be implemented under the coordination of the EU Education Programs (ERASMUS+) Office.
With this valuable initiative, our local and national sport, Hemsball, is being brought to the international arena for the first time through a project supported by the European Union. This unique sport, developed in our country, will offer inclusive sports experiences to European youth and be promoted on a global scale.
International partners of the project include Portugal, Sweden, and Serbia, while the International Hemsball Association from Turkey will also play an active role in the project. Thanks to this extensive partnership network, we aim to spread Hemsball throughout Europe and foster an inclusive sports culture among young people.
We congratulate the academics involved in the project for their dedicated work and wish them continued success.
