Rules to Be Followed During Exams

RULES TO BE FOLLOWED DURING EXAMINATIONS

  1. Every student must take the examination in the examination room assigned and announced for them.
  2. Students must be seated in the examination room at least five minutes before the examination begins.
  3. Students arriving more than 15 minutes after the start of the examination will not be admitted.
  4. Students are not permitted to leave the examination room during the first 15 minutes of the examination. Once a student leaves the examination room for any reason, re-entry will not be permitted.
  5. Students must carry their student identification cards during the examination. Students who do not have their student ID cards will not be allowed to take the examination. Identification cards must remain visible on the desk throughout the examination.
  6. At the beginning of the examination, students are required to sign the Examination Attendance Sheet. Students whose signatures are not recorded on this document will be considered absent, even if they submit an examination paper.
  7. Mobile phones must be switched off during the examination and must not be kept in places accessible to students. Mobile phones may not be placed on or under desks. Keeping phones in silent mode or turning them on during the examination is strictly prohibited. Any student found in possession of a mobile phone during the examination will be reported and disciplinary action will be initiated.
  8. The use or possession of smart/digital watches during examinations is strictly prohibited. Only analog wristwatches are permitted. The use or possession of headphones, handheld computers, Bluetooth devices, voice recorders, and any similar communication devices is also prohibited.
  9. The use of mobile phones as calculators is strictly prohibited. Calculators used during examinations must be limited to the functions required for the examination. Unless otherwise specified, advanced calculators with data storage or graphing capabilities are not permitted.
  10. Upon the invigilators’ instructions, seating arrangements may be changed at any time to maintain examination order. Students must not change their seats without permission.
  11. Copying from notes written on desks, walls, or any other surfaces is prohibited, and students are responsible for reporting such materials to the invigilator before the examination begins.
  12. Bags and course materials will not be accessible during the examination. Students are strictly prohibited from keeping any course-related or unrelated materials, including books and notes, at their desks.
  13. Before the examination begins, students must ensure that they have all necessary materials such as pens, erasers, rulers, calculators, and tables. These items cannot be borrowed or provided during the examination.
  14. Pencil cases are not permitted on or under desks during examinations. Students should prepare their writing materials before the examination starts.
  15. Eating or drinking in the examination room is prohibited, except for water.
  16. Students who continue disruptive behavior despite warnings, speak aloud or whisper, cheat, or attempt to cheat during the examination will be reported by the invigilators, and disciplinary proceedings will be initiated.
  17. Each student is responsible for the security of their own examination paper until they leave the examination room. Students must ensure that their papers are not visible to others during the examination or while submitting them.
  18. At the end of the examination, question papers and answer sheets must be submitted in the manner specified by the invigilators. Discussions regarding examination questions should take place outside the examination room.
  19. Students who leave the examination room are not allowed to gather in the corridors or make comments about the examination until the examination session has ended.
  20. Please note that, in accordance with the Regulation on Student Disciplinary Procedures in Higher Education Institutions:

i. Attempting to cheat during examinations constitutes a disciplinary offense punishable by a Reprimand (Article 5/d).

ii. Cheating or facilitating cheating during examinations constitutes a disciplinary offense punishable by suspension from the higher education institution for one semester (Article 7/e).

iii. Cheating through threats, preventing the removal of students caught cheating, having another person take an examination on one's behalf, or taking an examination on behalf of another student constitutes a disciplinary offense punishable by suspension from the higher education institution for two semesters (Article 8/d).
