Introduction

Our program was established to train qualified professionals who possess the fundamental practical skills, experience, and knowledge of basic legal concepts required for careers as correctional officers and security personnel. The language of instruction is Turkish, and the duration of study is two years. Students who successfully complete the program are entitled to continue their education in certain four-year faculties and open education programs by taking the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS).

The 3+1 Education Model is implemented in our program. Within this framework, students complete three semesters of theoretical and practical coursework. During the remaining semester, students who meet the required conditions participate in “Professional Training in the Workplace” for a total of seventy (70) working days in accordance with Article 12 of the Regulation on Applied Education in Higher Education (Official Gazette dated 17.06.2021, No. 31514) and Article 14 of the Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Directive on Applied Education.

The Criminal Execution and Security Services Program aims to educate professionals who can rapidly adapt to professional life, demonstrate high performance, and work effectively in both the private security sector and correctional services. Graduates of the program may serve in various positions within the Ministry of Justice, including correctional officer, correctional clerk, chief clerk, and prison director.

Correctional officers employed in prisons under the Ministry of Justice have the opportunity to advance to the position of Chief Correctional Officer through examinations based on their length of public service and educational qualifications. In addition, correctional officers holding a bachelor's degree may advance to the positions of Deputy Prison Director and Prison Director upon successfully passing the administrative officer examinations organized by the Ministry of Justice.

Furthermore, graduates may also work as private security specialists, meeting the needs of both public and private sector security services through their ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings.
