Information Notice About the Accreditation Process
This information notice has been prepared by the Department of Computer Programming at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University to inform students and academic staff about the accreditation process.
As the Computer Programming Department, we have initiated the accreditation process in order to improve our educational quality and provide education in accordance with required standards. This process is carried out to certify that the educational activities of our department comply with specific quality standards and to support continuous improvement studies.
The main objective of this process is to clearly define the responsibilities, duties, and benefits of both students and academic staff, and to ensure that all internal stakeholders adopt and actively participate in this process. The Higher Education Quality Council of Türkiye (YÖKAK) defines program accreditation as an external quality assurance process in which the compliance of a higher education program with predetermined standards by an accreditation organization is evaluated.
The eleven criteria determined by MEDEK include educational objectives, learning outcomes, curriculum, academic staff, resources, organizational structure, assessment and evaluation processes, and continuous improvement activities. Therefore, accreditation is a long-term, rigorous, and comprehensive quality assurance process.
Within this framework, active participation of both our students and academic staff is of great importance. Evaluating feedback and implementing improvements based on these evaluations are critical for ensuring the quality assurance of our department.
